Barry Stark

Barry has spent more than three decades in practice, first in Perth, and for the last seven or so years, here in Melbourne. During his time in Perth, Barry began in a large Perth firm, then branched out on his own, and over the journey has started and managed practices ranging from medium sized to boutique, through to being a sole practitioner, before joining the Sather Legal Group.

While Barry is currently helping to run the office at Quinn & Quinn, working in the Wills & Estates sphere of practice, his specialist areas of practice are commercial law and leasing. That encompasses all kinds of commercial agreements, company and corporate advice, sale and purchase of business, business structuring, and all forms of non-residential leasing, acting for both landlords and tenants. Barry is never happier than when he is critically reviewing a commercial document for a client, or drafting a bespoke document to fit a client's specific requirements.

Barry has also dabbled in commercial litigation and debt collecting, and he counts as one of his greatest achievements sourcing and managing for his major overseas client a property portfolio numbering in excess of 40 commercial, industrial and retail/shopping centre properties in and around Perth, spanning an unbroken period of 31 years. That included acting as a director of the client's group of companies, which numbered more than 25 entities.

When he is not helping his clients navigate the intricacies of testamentary trusts or buying or selling their businesses, Barry can be found indulging (strictly as a spectator) his passion for Rugby League, AFL and American Football, or reading one of his collection of crime and thriller books.
